How is AI changing careers in translation, localization, and interpreting? Hosted by the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Korea and the Taiwan-Korea Women's Association, the 2026 Career Talk brings together professionals working in Korea across gaming, marketing, finance, and interpreting. Through their experiences, we will explore career transitions, changes in day-to-day work, and the expertise language professionals can develop in the AI era.

The event takes place on October 17, 2026, from 14:00 to 17:00 (Korea Standard Time), with a capacity of 35 participants. The discussion will be conducted in Mandarin Chinese and is free and open to everyone who registers in advance.

Moderator | 徐子淳

Originally from Taiwan and based in Korea for many years, 徐子淳 is an insurance consultant and Chinese–Korean interpreter. Previously a product localization specialist at Samsung SDS, the moderator brings experience in the technology industry, localization, and cross-cultural communication.

Panelist | Jane Wang

Jane moved to Korea to study in 2012 and entered the Korean workforce after graduation, continuing to make Korea her home. She began her career in event planning before moving into the gaming industry.

Jane will share her experiences of changing industries, applying for an F-5 visa and navigating unemployment. She will also introduce localization and community management roles in the gaming industry and discuss how AI and machine translation tools are changing the work.

Panelist | Carly Lin

Carly has lived in Korea for nine years. An English graduate and currently a marketing project manager, she has worked at startups and multinational companies on international and cross-cultural projects.

Her current work focuses on marketing, content, and localization projects. Carly will discuss AI's impact on content production, translation, and localization, including SEO, GEO, and how related roles are changing in practice.

Panelist | 陳丹郁

Currently working in Korea's financial industry, 陳丹郁 handles document translation between Taiwan and Korea, meeting interpreting, and international communication, helping colleagues navigate differences in language, institutional systems, and workplace culture.

The discussion will explore how AI is changing professional translation and how language professionals can redefine their roles and provide additional value in the AI era.
