D&M #3: Seollem Candle and Scent Studio
The Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Korea hosted D&M #3 on June 27, 2026, bringing members together at Seollem Candle and Scent Studio for an afternoon of entrepreneurial sharing, fragrance discovery, and warm conversation.
The event began with a sharing session by Sherry, founder of Seollem Candle and Scent Studio. She spoke about how her business journey took shape during the COVID-19 period, when being laid off became an unexpected turning point. Rather than letting the setback define her, Sherry continued building on her interest and training in candle-making and scent design, gradually exploring how her craft could become a meaningful experience for others.
She started developing the business idea from her small apartment, inviting friends to join early experience sessions. Their encouragement and introductions helped her refine the concept, reach new participants, and discover an early niche among Chinese-speaking learners. This support became an important foundation for the studio's early growth.
Beyond her entrepreneurial journey, Sherry also introduced participants to the creative world behind Seollem Candle and Scent Studio. She presented her fabric perfume line, including her latest scents, Busan and Midsummer Fruits, inspired by moments in Korea such as the breeze along Busan's coast and fruit ripened under summer sunlight. She also shared Hanok and Agassy, earlier scents that reflect her interpretation of Korean cultural imagery.
Following the sharing session, participants continued the afternoon with fragrance discovery, casual conversation, and networking. The relaxed setting allowed members to connect more personally, exchange ideas, and enjoy the studio's warm atmosphere.
Through gatherings like D&M, the Chamber continues to create opportunities for Taiwanese entrepreneurs and professionals in Korea to learn from one another's experiences, discover local businesses, and strengthen community ties.
